Clear picture on ‘Sun Risers’ emerges

A clear picture has been emerged on the Hyderabad team for the six edition of the cash rich IPL cricket tournament. As the Sun TV network has taken over the team, its logo was unveiled in Hyderabad yesterday in the presence of Shanmugam, the Chief Executive Officer of Sun group.

The new team of Hyderabad was named as ‘Sun Risers’. Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth has been named as the mentor and strategic analyst of the team while V.V.S. Laxman will be the brand ambassador for the team. Australian Tom Moody will coach the team for the sixth edition of the IPL tournament which starts on 3rd April next year.

Sri Lankan star Kumara Sangakkara was retained as the captain of the team.

Speaking on the occasion, Srikkanth expressed confidence on performing well in this edition of the tournament. ‘Only the management of the team was changed, but the players are the same’, said the former captain. He analysed that the team will reach semi finals this time, or even win the title, if enough guidance was given to the youngsters.

While the CEO of the group Shanmugam said that the management would stand by the players continuously. He said that their team will taste success this time in the able guidance of Srikkanth, Moody and Lakshman.
